MELVIN CARMEL
HAMPTON – Melvin Carmel, 76, a lifelong Hampton resident, died Monday, Feb. 22.
He retired in 1976 as an engineer after 35 years at NASA-Langley Research Center. Mr. Carmel was a life member of the Hampton Elks Club.
Mr. Carmel was a member of the B’nai Israel Congregation, where he was past president and a board member.
Survived by his wife, Sylvia G. Carmel; two daughters, Leslie C. Lazarus of Grafton and Susan Wishnow of Rivervale, N.J.; a son, Frank J. Carmel of Bethesda, Md.; and five grandchildren.
Visitation at the residence. Funeral 11 today at B’nai Israel Congregation by Rabbi Norman M. Golner. Burial in Hebrew Cemetery.
