MILDRED DELSENIA WHEELER

Ms. Mildred Delsenia Wheeler passed into eternal life on Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2004. She was born in Newport News, Va., on Jan. 22, 1948, to the late Earnest Wheeler Jr. and Malissia Whitfield Wheeler.

Mildred had accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She was a 1966 graduate of George Washington Carver High School. A kind, loving and caring individual, Mildred was employed by Zion Baptist Home for the Elderly.

She is survived by her loving and faithful daughter, Donna Renee Martin and devoted son-in-law, Charles Martin of Hampton; three grandchildren, Brandon, Charnetta and Christopher Martin of Hampton; two brothers, James (Doris) Wheeler of Newport News and Earnest (Stephanie) Wheeler of Hampton; five sisters, Shirley Thomas and Evangeline Wheeler of Newport News, Doris (Horace) Harmon of Hampton, Jacqueline Wheeler of Atlanta, Ga., and Brenda Brown of Fort Washington, Md. Mildred is also survived by a host of nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts and other relatives and friends.

Viewing will be held from 9:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Sunday at Cooke Bros. Funeral Chapel, 1601 27th Street, Newport News, Va. (757) 380-0251. Homegoing services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 18, at New Grafton Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Michael Sumler officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
