MYRTLE E. WATKINS

POQUOSON – Myrtle E. Watkins, 79, died Monday, March 18, in Riverside Regional Medical Center, Newport News.

A native and lifelong resident of Poquoson, she was a homemaker. Mrs. Watkins was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and its Women’s Bible Class.

She is survived by a daughter, Glendola W. Bryant of Poquoson; two sons, Vernon E. Watkins Jr. of Poquoson and John M. Watkins of Punta Gorda, Fla.; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight in Claytor Rollins Funeral Home and at other times at 20 Whitehouse Circle, Poquoson.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Trinity United Methodist Church by the Rev. James W. Ward and the Rev. Tracey A. McNeil. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Park, Hampton.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Poquoson Fire Department and Rescue Squad, 1050 Poquoson Ave., Poquoson 23662.
