WILLIAMSBURG – Nathan Hyatt Walker, 78, died Monday, Dec. 3, at home.

He was a native of Haywood County, N.C., and had been a Peninsula resident for 50 years.

Mr. Walker retired from B&W Tax Consulting Business in Roanoke. He was the last acting president of Newport News Cosmopolitan Club and a member of the Ancient Mariners Chorus of the Retired Men’s Club of the Peninsula.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy S. Walker; a daughter, Martha W. Blanks of Williamsburg; a son, Nathan H. Walker of Croaker; a sister, Dorothy Chapman of Sylva, N.C.; a brother, James L. Walker of Heber Springs, Ark.; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Bucktrout Funeral Home.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Alzheimer’s Foundation, 20 Koger Executive Center, Suite 233, Norfolk 23502.
