TABB – Paul M. Counts Jr., 65, died May 26, 1994. Born in Brunswick, Ga., Mr. Counts had been a Peninsula resident for the past 40 years. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War and worked as a marine engineer for Newport News Shipbuilding and retired from M. Rosenblatt and Sons. He was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Grafton.

Survived by his wife, Hazel McGuire Counts; one daughter, Linda Ann Counts of Hampton; one son, James B. Gardner of Hayes; two sisters, Miriam Counts of Cayce, S.C., and Esther Kasparek of Racine, Wis.; and two grandsons, Ronald P. and Michael C. Gardner, both of Hayes.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 31 at 11 a.m. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church with Rev. Wayne Shelor. Burial will follow in Peninsula Memorial Park, Newport News. Visitation from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Amory Funeral Home, Grafton.
