POQUOSON – Raymond Forrest Volkers Sr., 83, a native of Clinton, Iowa, and a Poquoson resident for more than 30 years, died Thursday, Jan. 2.

Mr. Volkers retired from the Virginia Alcohol Beverage Control Board after 20 years of service. He was an Air Force veteran of World War II and a Lutheran.

Survived by a son, Raymond F. Volkers Jr. of Virginia Beach; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation from 7 to 8 tonight at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home. Graveside service with military honors at 3 p.m. Saturday in Parklawn Memorial Park, Hampton, by Air Force Chaplain Frank M. Hamilton.
