RICHARD THOMAS WALLACE

Richard Thomas Wallace, 72, died Friday, Oct. 21, 2005. He was a native and lifelong resident of Fox Hill, where he was a member of Fox Hill Central United Methodist Church and its Men’s Bible Class.

Mr. Wallace worked as a cost engineer at the Newport News Shipyard, retiring in 1998 after 46 years of service. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of Monitor Lodge #197, AF & AM.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara S. Wallace; his son, Pete Wallace of Gainesville, Fla.; two brothers, Carl R. Wallace and Charles W. Wallace, both of Hampton; two sisters, Gwen W. Wesson of Hampton and Jackie W. Rawls of Gloucester; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25, at Fox Hill Central United Methodist Church by the Rev. Robert W. Sharp. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at a reception in the church fellowship hall until 4 p.m. Inurnment will be private.

Memorials may be made to the Memorial Fund of Fox Hill Central United Methodist Church, 501 Beach Road, Hampton, VA 23664.
