RONALD “BRIAN” CAVENDER
HAMPTON – Ronald “Brian” Cavender, 28, a native and lifelong resident of Hampton, died Monday, May 6, 1996.
Brian was a 1986 graduate of Kecoughtan High School and received his bachelor of arts degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1993. He was part owner of the Treasure Chest and Treasure Chest Video. He enjoyed volunteering his time as a summer camp counselor for blind children. An active body builder, he was a member of Marty’s Gym and was an active volunteer for the Lower Peninsula Weight Lifting Club.
Brian’s survivors include his mother, Virginia Cordes Whitesel of Hampton; his father, Ronald B. Cavender of Laurens, S.C.; his brother, Randy Holston Jr. of Hampton; his maternal grandparents, Ted and Blanche Cordes of Hampton; his paternal grandmother, Hattie J. Cavender of Laurens, S.C.; and his maternal great-grandmother, Sarah Cordes of Seymour, Ind. He leaves behind many loving friends.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 9, in R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. John Bayles. Burial will follow in Clark Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
