Rosa Ward Charity, 82, died Wednesday, March 1, 2000.

She was a native of Hampton. She was a member of Morning Star Baptist Church, a member of the Willing Workers and was a missionary.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alanda Charity; and two brothers, George Ward and Andrew Ward.

She is survived by two daughters, Doris A. Washington and Shirley L. Lee, both of Hampton; four grandchildren; one great-grandson; four brothers, Stafford Ward, Annapolis, Md., Pernell Ward, James Ward and William Ward, all of Hampton; two sisters, Magdalene Ward and Sylvia Burrell, both of Hampton; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and devoted friends.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Tuesday, at Morning Star Baptist Church by the Rev. Wilbur R. Jones. Interment will follow in Ward-Johnson Cemetery. Mrs. Charity will be placed in the church by 10 a.m. on Tuesday. Viewing for Mrs. Charity will be from noon to 7 p.m. at Ronald C. Perkins Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Morning Star Baptist Church, 2717 N. Armistead Ave., Hampton, VA 23666 in Mrs. Charity’s name.
