ROSE L. CARMEL
HAMPTON – Rose L. Carmel, a native of Baltimore and a Phoebus resident for most of her life, died Sunday, June 14.
Mrs. Carmel was the widow of Hampton Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court Judge Macy M. Carmel, for whom the Hampton Center for Justice building is named. She was a member of B’nai Israel Synagogue.
Survived by a daughter, Candy C. Familant of Newport News; two sisters, Sylvia Kootner of Newport News and Mary Godlin of New York; and three grandchildren.
Graveside service 2 p.m. Tuesday in Hebrew Cemetery by Rabbi Steven Lindemann.
