Reuben Lee Wallace, 88, died Friday, July 7, 2000, at Memorial Regional Medical Center, Richmond, after a short illness. Born in Fox Hill, he was a lifetime resident of Hampton, where he was a member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church. He graduated from Hampton High School in the Class of 1931.

Mr. Wallace retired as vice president and general manager of Shackelford Dodge in May 1973, after 34 years.

Survivors include his wife, Louise J. Wallace; a daughter, Kay Wallace Martin; two grandchildren, Michelle and Brian; a great-granddaughter, Sarah; and two brothers, Joseph Severn Wallace and David Hornsby Wallace, both of Hampton. Mr. Wallace was preceded in death by a brother, J. Thurston Wallace, and a sister, Nellie Wallace.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in Parklawn Memorial Park by the Rev. Mark A. Burgess. The family will receive friends from 10 until 11:15 a.m. Tuesday in R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, with a procession to the cemetery following.
