RUTH A. VON SCHILLING

WILLIAMSBURG – Ruth Andrews Von Schilling, 86, of Williamsburg died Wednesday, April 27, 1994. The widow of the late Lucien Howard Von Schilling, she was born in Toledo, Ohio, and moved to the Peninsula in 1936. Mrs. von Schilling was a noted local artist and a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church. She was a 1928 graduate of Bucknell College, a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority and a member of I Chapter of P.E.O.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Virginia von Schilling Moore and Thomas K. Moore of McLean, Va.; sister-in-law, Martha von Schilling Stuart of Richmond; grandchildren, Elizabeth Elaine Moore of Rome, Italy, James Howard von Schilling Moore of Lake Forrest, Calif, Katharine-Karin Joanna Moore of Reston, Va.; and a great-grandchild, Samuel Jaymes Moore-Sobel.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 30, in St. John’s Cemetery by the Rev. Donna-Mae Siderius. The family will receive friends afterwards at 123 Merideth Ave. Memorials to the Lucien H. von Schilling Scholarship Fund, VMI Foundation Inc., P.O. Box 932, Lexington, Va. 24450.
