HAMPTON – Mrs. Sadie H. Vaughan, 99 and would have celebrated her 100th birthday in September, died Wednesday, April 24, 1996. A native of Woodwine, Va., she had been a Peninsula resident for 13 years.

Mrs. Vaughan was a member of First Baptist Church, Hampton, and its Senior Church Aid Club, and was a Delta Sigma Theta Patroness.

Survivors include one daughter, Mildred R. Wilson of Hampton; one son, William H. Ross of Philadelphia, Pa.; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Pearl Houchins, Ethel Johnson and Vivian McNeal, all of Philadelphia, Pa.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church, Hampton, by the Rev. Dr. William D. Booth. Interment in Oakland Cemetery. Mrs. Vaughan will be placed in church by 11 a.m. Monday. Assemble at the church by 12:30 p.m. Monday. Viewing will be noon to 3 p.m. Sunday at Ronald C. Perkins Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund, 229 N. King St., Hampton, Va. 23669; or Shaeffer Memorial Church Cemetery Fund, 780 E. Montgomery Ave., Christiansburg, Va. 24073.
