SARA V. WATKINS

POQUOSON – Sara Virginia Watkins, 69, a retired NASA employee, died Thursday, May 23, in Riverside Regional Medical Center, Newport News.

Mrs. Watkins was a staffing personnel clerk at NASA-Langley Research Center, retiring in 1977. She was formerly a teller at Citizens’ Bank of Poquoson.

She was a native and lifelong resident of Poquoson. Mrs. Watkins was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Marion Page Circle of United Methodist Women and the Sanctuary Choir.

She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Survivors include her husband, Henry Preston Watkins; a daughter, Barbara K. Cureton of Tucson, Ariz.; a son, Terrell L. Watkins of Poquoson; and three grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Trinity United Methodist Church by the Rev. James W. Ward and the Rev. Tracy A. McNeil. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Park, Hampton.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Trinity United Methodist Church Choir Fund, 1294 Poquoson Ave., Poquoson 23662; or Poquoson Rescue Squad, 1035 Poquoson Ave., Poquoson 23662.
