SARAH S. COLLIER

NEWPORT NEWS – Sarah Speight Collier, 85, a retired employee of Hampton city schools, died Wednesday, Jan. 15.

Mrs. Collier retired as a cafeteria worker after 13 years of service. She was a native of LaGrange, N.C.

Mrs. Collier was a member of Hampton Roads Baptist Church, Hampton, and was active in the community affairs of Great Oaks Community Center.

Survived by a daughter, Gene A. Pociluyko of Newport News; two sisters, Ada P. Hardee of Smithfield and Lula G. Gillespie of Fayetteville, N.C.; a brother, Herman Faircloth Jr. of Charlotte, N.C.; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at Lawrence B. Wood Funeral Home, Hampton.

Funeral at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Richard W. Gaskins. Burial in Parklawn Memorial Park, Hampton.
