SHIRLEY L. CHEESEMAN
NEWPORT NEWS – Shirley L. Cheeseman answered the Master’s call on Tuesday, July 30, 1996, in Riverside Regional Medical Center.
She was a member of First Baptist Church, Denbigh. She also was a member of the American Business Women’s Association. She retired from Riverside Regional Medical Center as a licensed practical nurse after 30 years of untiring service.
She leaves to treasure her precious memories her devoted husband, Herbert Cheeseman; her daughters, Martine C. Talbert and Serene C. Evans, both of Atlanta, Ga.; her sons, Thomas L. Tucker of Newport News and Sean L. Cheeseman of Atlanta, Ga.; her father, Harry B. White of Grafton; her sisters, Angela Peoples of Hampton and Renelda Brown of Arlington; her brothers, Thornley Roberts and David Roberts, both of Hampton; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of other loving relatives and caring friends.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday in First Baptist Church, Denbigh, with the Rev. Ivan T. Harris officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Family and friends will assemble at 156 Hawthorne Drive by noon on Tuesday. The body may be viewed in the church starting at 11 a.m. on Tuesday and in Whiting’s Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday.
