Vaden M. West

Vaden Magruder West, 80, of 440 Lee St., Hampton, a veteran fireman, died Friday at home unexpectedly. He was born in York County and spent most of his life in Hampton. He was an Army veteran of World War 1. He was an active member of the Hampton Volunteer Fire Company for more than 50 years. He retired in 1955 as assistant engineer. He was a member when the department was motorized in 1920. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Mary Moore West; a sister, Mrs. Henry Clarke of Hampton and a brother, Edward West of Hampton. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:30 PM Monday in the Lawrence B. Wood Funeral Home chapel, by the Rev. Chester L. Brown, pastor of Hampton Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Phoebus Section of Hampton National Cemetery.

A funeral service for Vaden M. West, 80, of 440 Lee St., Hampton, who died Friday, will be conducted at 2:38pm today in Lawrence B. Wood Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Chester L. Brown.

Burial will be in Phoebus section of Hampton National Cemetery.
