W. DALLAS WOODALL

HAMPTON – W. Dallas Woodall, 75, died Saturday, July 28, in Sentara Hampton General Hospital.

A native of Campbell County, Mr. Woodall had been a Peninsula resident for 64 years. He was a 1938 graduate of the Newport News Shipbuilding Apprentice School and retired from the shipyard in 1980 after 47 years.

Mr. Woodall was a member of Memorial Baptist Church and its Schmelz Bible Class. He was a 32nd degree mason and a member of St. John’s Masonic Lodge No. 1, AF&AM in Wilmington, N.C. He was a member of the Scottish Rite and was a Shriner.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Satchell Woodall; a son, Donald Woodall of Burke; three sisters, Laura McManus of Williamsburg, Myrtle Vaughn West of Newport News and Lois Kelly of Port Charlotte, Fla.; a brother, W. Neil Woodall of Hot Springs, Ark.; and two grandchildren.

A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in Memorial Baptist Church by the Revs. Aubrey J. Rosser and Paul B. Logan. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will be at the residence.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the memorial fund of Memorial Baptist Church, 317 Lee Street, Hampton 23669. Lawrence B. Wood Funeral Home is in charge.
