William H. ‘Bill’ and ‘Pop’ Moore Jr., 70, a native and lifelong resident of Poquoson, went home to be with His Lord and Savior Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010.

He served in the United States Army and was an active member of Liberty Baptist Church, Hampton. Bill retired after 35 years of service at BAE Systems as a Materials Controller Supervisor. He had three loves in his life: his walk with the Lord, spending time with his family to include the grandchildren’s baseball games, softball games, and snow skiing, and capturing all those memories with his cameras. ‘Pop’ was a loving husband, father, and grandfather to Andy, Megan and Hannah. ‘He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him’.

Mr. Moore was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Alma Linda Bunting and William Herbert Moore Sr.; and brother-in-law, Asa Shaw.

He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Jane Palmer Moore; a daughter, Barbara Moore Hibbs and husband, Tom; three grandchildren, Andy Hibbs, Megan Hibbs, and Hannah Hibbs; two sister, Jean Shaw and Linda Ridenhour and husband, Dick; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday, at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home, Poquoson. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home by the Rev. Joe Hunt. Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park, Hampton with military honors.
