WILLIAM E. WILLIAMS

GLOUCESTER – William E. Williams, 70, died Saturday, May 27, 1989, in Riverside Middle Peninsula Hospital, Gloucester.

He was a native of Essex County and was a Baptist. He retired in 1981 from Newport News Shipbuilding as a pipefitter.

Survivors include his wife, Mary V. Williams of Gloucester Point; two daughters, Betty Williams Smith of Canada, Ky., and Nancy Williams Charles of Hampton; three sons, Ernest E. Williams, Joseph Ronald Williams and Joseph Samuel Williams, all of Gloucester; three sisters, Lillian August of Arlington, Myrtle Niedzelka of Poquoson, and Lilli B. Passagaluppi of Gloucester; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Lawrence B. Wood Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Henry Sudduth. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
