YVONNE K. WARD

HAMPTON – Yvonne Kelly Ward, 66, died today, June 16, in her home.

A native of Newport News, Mrs. Ward had been a lifelong resident of the Peninsula and was a member of Hampton Baptist Church.

She was a member of Sentara Hampton General Hospital Auxiliary; a former member of the Newport News Junior Woman’s Club and Hampton Senior Woman’s Club. Mrs. Ward was a graduate of Fairfax Hall Junior College in Waynesboro and Virginia Tech in Blacksburg.

During World War II she served as civilian director of the Port of Embarkation in Newport News.

Survivors include her husband, R. Mike Ward; one daughter, Shelley W. Bales of Hampton; and one granddaughter.

A tombside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Parklawn Memorial Park by the Rev. Chester L. Brown.

The family is at the residence.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Sentara Hampton General Hospital Auxiliary, the Wythe Rescue Squad, or Help Shelter Endowment Fund, P.O. Box. 7189, Hampton 23661.

HAMPTON – Yvonne Kelly Ward, 66, died Friday, June 16, in her home.

A native of Newport News, Mrs. Ward was a lifelong Peninsula resident and was a member of Hampton Baptist Church. She was a member of Sentara Hampton General Hospital Auxiliary, a former member of the Newport News Junior Woman’s Club and Hampton Senior Woman’s Club.
