AMHERST, Mass. – Zella Anne Smith Wyker, 59, a native of Poquoson and an Amherst, Mass., resident for 25 years, died Thursday, Feb. 11.

Mrs. Wyker was employed as Director of Rehabilitative Service for 13 years at Wing Memorial Hospital in Palmer, Mass.

She was a member of American Physical Therapy Association, American College of Sports Medicine and was founder of Western Massachusetts Physical Therapy Directors Forum.

A 1951 graduate of Poquoson High School, she was also an honor graduate of both Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg and the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond.

She was a former Miss Poquoson at age 20 and a member of Grace Episcopal Church, Amherst, Mass.

Survived by three sons, J.B. Wyker of London, England, Scott Wyker of Big Sur, Calif., and Jim Wyker of Burlington, Vt.; her mother, Cora Smith of Poquoson; and a sister, Betsy S. Meszaros of Oreland, Pa.

Visitation from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Monday at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home, Poquoson. Funeral 3 p.m. Monday in Smith Cemetery, Poquoson, by the Rev. Nigel Massey.
