HAMPTON – Bessie Cagle Newton, 83, who retired as an administrative secretary in 1971 after 30 years with civil service, died Monday, Oct. 25.
Mrs. Newton was a native of Asheboro, N.C., and had been a Peninsula resident for eight years.
Graveside service 2 p.m. Tuesday in Parklawn Memorial Park by the Rev. F.W. Chip Geissler II.
