ALBERT M. EARLY

MERRITT ISLAND, Fla. – Albert “Sim” Martin Early, 85, died Tuesday, Aug. 8, in Wueshoff Memorial Hospital, Rockledge, Fla.

A native of Salem, Mr. Early was a Peninsula resident for 54 years and was a Methodist. He was a member of Taylor Masonic Lodge No. 23, Salem; Hampton-York Rite; the Scottish Rite Bodies, Orlando; Khedive Temple, Norfolk; and Behia Temple, Orlando, Fla.

Mr. Early was employed by Norfolk and Southern Railroad for 20 years and retired from the supply department at Newport News Shipbuilding in 1955.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Elliott Early; and two sisters, Nina Moore and Mary E. Smith, both of Salem.

A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Lawrence B. Wood Funeral Home. Burial with Masonic rites by St. Tamany Lodge No. 5 A.F.&A.M. will be in St. John’s Cemetery.
