EFFIE SCHMUCKER
NEWPORT NEWS – Effie Malinda Schmucker, 90, a Peninsula resident since 1904, died Monday, Nov. 11.
Mrs. Schmucker was formerly employed as a dietary aide in Newport News public schools at Ferguson High School and Lee Hall Elementary.
She was a native of Chicago and was a member of Warwick River Mennonite Church.
Survived by a son, Donald W. Schmucker of Philadelphia; and two grandchildren.
Visitation from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at W.J. Smith & Son Funeral Home. Funeral at 10 a.m. Friday at Warwick River Mennonite Church by the Revs. Lloyd Weaver and Gordon Zook. Burial in church cemetery.
