Mrs. Esther Brunk Shenk, 76, 460 Colony Road, Newport News, died Wednesday in her home. She was a lifelong Peninsula resident and a member of Pike Mennonite Church of Harrisonburg.

Survivors include her husband, Henry M. Shenk Sr.; seven daughters, Mrs. Fannie Hartzler, Mrs. Edith Layman and Mrs. Esther Buckwalter, all of Newport News, Mrs. Helen M. Baker, and Mrs. Phebe Hertzler, both of Harrisonburg, Miss Emily Shenk of Boston, Mass., and Mrs. Ellen Peachy of Washington, D.C.; a son, Henry Michael Shenk Jr. of Harrisonburg; four sisters, Mrs. Edna Hertzler of Newport News, Mrs. Stella Shank, Mrs. Katie Shank and Mrs. Ruth Stoltzfus, all of Harrisonburg; four brothers, Truman H. Brunk of Newport News, Menno S. Brunk and George R Brunk, both of Harrisonburg, and Lawrence B. Brunk of Salem, Ohio; 28 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

A funeral for Mrs. Esther Brunk Shenk of Newport News, who died Wednesday, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Warwick River Mennonite Church by the Rev. John H. Shenk and the Rev. Charles Heatwole.

A graveside service, conducted by Bishop Truman H. Brunk and the Rev. George R. Brunk, will be in the church cemetery.

The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Choice Books Caribbean, in care of Warwick River Mennonite Church, 252 Lucas Creek Road, Newport News, 23602.

The body will be placed in the church by W.J. Smith and Son Funeral Home by 10 a.m.
