LINWOOD M. NICHOLSON

Linwood M. Nicholson Jr., 55, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2002. He was a lifelong resident of Newport News, attended Huntington High School and was employed at Langley Air Force Base.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Vietnam War.

He leaves to cherish his memories his devoted father, Rev. Linwood M. Nicholson Sr., devoted mother and stepfather, Bernice and Thomas Brown; his daughters, Letreanna Davis, Tracy Lynn Hopkins and Leondra Hodge; one son, Norman Barrett; brother, Elder Jerry L. Nicholson (Sandra); sister, Sheilda Ruffin (Keith); 11 grandchildren; stepbrothers, Ronald Armstead (Gloria), Cornell Brown (Joette), Rev. James Brown (Daisy) and Dennis Nicholson (Nyocka); two aunts, Mae, Grant and Mattie Bullock; two uncles, Rudolph Deloatch and Elfred Deloatch; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Homegoing services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, at New Life Church, 1725 Powhatan Parkway, Hampton, with Bishop Lawrence Lewis officiating. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery. Viewing from noon to 8 p.m. Friday at Cooke Bros. Funeral Chapel.
