NEWPORT NEWS – Mary Elizabeth Bott, 71, died Monday, April 10, in her home.
A native of Richmond, she had been a Peninsula resident for 40 years.
A beautician, she retired from Great Escape Hair Fashions in Newmarket Shopping Center in 1988.
Survivors include four daughters, Frances Louise Bott, Brenda Sue Hopkins, Jean B. Johnston and Esther C. Bowen, all of Newport News; two sons, Alvin G. Carter of Newport News and Robert Howell of Smithfield; a sister, Katherine B. Cline of Richmond; a brother, John H. Barfoot of Hampton; and six grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Parklawn Memorial Park by Dr. R. Furman Kenney.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight in W.J. Smith & Son Funeral Home.
