WILLIAM A. HARTMAN
HAMPTON – Retired Army Sgt. 1st Class William A. Hartman, 72, died Friday, Dec. 7, in the Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
A native of Corsicana, Texas, he was a Hampton resident for 32 years.
Mr. Hartman retired from the Army in 1963 after 20 years and was a veteran of World War II. He had been employed as an arborist for the city of Hampton.
He was a member of the City of Hampton Supervisors Club and a past member of the National Arborist Association.
Survivors include his wife, Lula M. Hartman of Hampton; two daughters, Julia Ann Rea of Springfield, Ill., and Diana M. Bergmann of Richfield, Ohio; a son, William L. Hartman of Hampton; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Parklawn Memorial Park by Chaplain Virgil Knipp.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home.
